Basically, gastronomy is concerned with the catering of guests, e.g. in restaurants, hotels and bars. But apart from the fact that the basic needs of hunger and thirst are being satisfied here, gastronomic facilities also meet the cultural need for experience and communication in a variety of ways.

The aim is to appeal to all the senses of the guests with the most diverse means and to inspire them with a wholesome, positive atmosphere. This is only possible if the entire team pulls together - whether banquet manager, chef, bartender, restaurant specialist or dishwasher. Consequently, team spirit is a basic prerequisite for success in the gastronomy sector. You should also be open-minded, communicative and ready to work regularly in the evening, at night or on weekends. Also, handling numbers should not cause you any problems, because in the kitchen as well as in service there is always something to calculate. Because gastronomy jobs can occasionally be physically demanding, a good physical condition is an advantage.
