Declaration of acceccibility

The Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce endeavors to make its website www.the-j-team.de accessible without barriers. These web pages are largely compatible with the specifications of the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (08-2018).

The legal basis is the Disability Equality Act (BGG), the Saxon Inclusion Act (SächsInklusG), the Saxon E-Government Act (SächsEGovG), and the Act Implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on Accessible Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies (Barrier-free Websites Act - BfWebG).

Non-accessible content & optimization potential

The web presence of the IHK Chemnitz is being adapted and optimized in cooperation with the other members of IHK24 e. V. to comply with EU Directive 2016/2102 on the implementation of barrier-free internet for public bodies. The identified shortcomings and deficiencies are currently in a continuous improvement process, which is being successively worked through.

As of this declaration, the content of this website is not yet fully accessible. The effort of a complete conversion, especially of the integrated documents of various origins, is not in proportion to the expected benefit for the visitor. The disproportionality of the barrier-free design is described in Article 5(2) and (4) of EU Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

The listed content is not accessible for the following reasons:

  • The effort of converting all PDF documents is a disproportionate burden. The disproportionality of accessibility is described in Article 5 of EU Directive (EU) 2016/2102. In the future, we will strive to use as few PDF documents as possible and instead publish as many low-barrier or accessible articles as possible.
  • Our embedded videos are published in video platforms. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos. As a result, WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (audio description recorded) is not met. The effort required to convert the embedded videos is a disproportionate burden. Disproportionality of accessibility is described in Article 5 of EU Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
  • The website will be adapted and optimized to comply with the EU Directive 2016/2102 on the implementation of accessible internet for public bodies. The identified shortcomings and deficiencies are currently in a continuous improvement process that is being successively worked through.

However, we are endeavoring to convert the non-accessible content step by step or to convert it to a more comprehensible version. Among other things, we are continuously optimizing older PDF documents and other document types available for download. These are either created in-house or originate from other sources, particularly in the area of cross-state specifications or guidelines (e.g. training regulations, PDFs from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce organization).

On the content level, texts have so far been optimized in terms of structure, headings and content, and the existing images and graphics have also been supplemented with descriptive alternative texts.

Alternative texts of images, link texts in text content and descriptions of links are expanded in a meaningful way or provided with context. Additional editorial adjustments and reformatting are intended to make information more accessible for screen reader rendering and to ensure improved orientation for the visually impaired.
The CoreMedia content management system is used for the editorial and technical operation of the site. Currently, a complete restructuring for layout, design and user guidance is in progress. In the course of the continuous development and the affiliation to the IHK24-Verbund (www.ihk24.de) all technical requirements for a barrier-free website have been created. No BITV test has yet been carried out by third parties for the listed content.
